Tip 7: Get writing and practise using descriptive language With the new vocabulary that you are seeing, test your pronunciation by checking the correct version with youtube videos. Tip 6: Test yourself on vocabulary pronunciation Record yourself saying set sentences to practise improving your intonation. Tip 4: Tune in your ear to american accentsĭo you like podcasts? Do you listen to the radio? The test uses American accents so if you’re not used to these then get listening! Tip 5: Practise your sentence intonation Look at how different grammar structures are used in different types of writing. Read a book, magazine, online newspaper or blog. Why not start watching a new TV show on Netflix or other streaming sites, there’s something for everyone out there! Tip 3: Get reading and notice those grammar structures Look up new words in the dictionary or note down unknown words you see when watching or listening to something in English. While we always recommend students to take responsibility for their own learning and to study by themselves, we think the most effective way for a student to improve is by combining this with taking lessons with a qualified English teacher. The best way to prepare for this is to improve your general language by taking classes with a teacher or doing some self-study.
